From May 19 to 21, 2026, an external expert commission visited the Kazakh Order of the “Badge of Honor” Research Institute of Eye Diseases LLP to conduct an external institutional evaluation and an assessment of the residency programme in “Adult and Pediatric Ophthalmology”.

The international commission, chaired by A.B. Zhunusova, Ph.D. in Medical Sciences, Director of the Department of Accreditation and Quality Management at the Astana Medical University, included a foreign expert—L.M. Maksudova, M.D., Associate Professor of the Department of Ophthalmology at the Center for the Development of Professional Qualifications of Medical Workers under the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The experts applied the Standards for Institutional Accreditation of Postgraduate Organizations and Continuing Professional Education and the Standards for Residency Programme Accreditation, which were developed based on the WFME Global Standards for Quality in Postgraduate Education (2023 version).
