New WFME Global Standards for Quality Improvement: National Specifications in Basic and Postgraduate Medical Education

A workshop for accreditation experts will be held on 20 June 2023 in Almaty.

Professor David Gordon, Past-President (2015-2022) and member of the Executive Council of the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME), is the workshop speaker.

Workshop objective: to develop the capacity and competencies of national experts in medical education accreditation.

Workshop topics: WFME Global Standards to Improve the Quality of Basic Education 2020; WFME Global Standards to Improve the Quality of Postgraduate Education (Residency) 2023 (draft); National specification of new Standards taking into account health system priorities; Best practice principles in accreditation of higher professional and postgraduate education; Defining roles and responsibilities of experts in accreditation process.

Dear colleagues, Eurasian Centre for Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Higher Education and Health Care is pleased to invite you to the webinar AppliedHE Kazakhstan Xchange conducted in partnership with AppliedHE Pte LTD, Singapore. The webinar is entitled “An Introduction to the methodologies and benefits of AppliedHE Ranking and Rating Systems”. The webinar's goal is to introduce faculty and HEI representatives from Kazakhstan with the AppliedHE system of international and independent rating and ranking. International speakers will demonstrate the Preferred Employer, Preferred University and Responsible Research ranking of the Republic of Kazakhstan. During the webinar, AppliedHE representatives will explain the benefits of rating the graduates’ employability, distance and English language programs. The invited key speakers of the webinar are Ms Mandy Mok, Director General of AppliedHE and Mr Pieter Stek, Chief Analyst.

On November 1-2, 2019, the visit of foreign experts of the Asia-Pacific Quality Register (APQR) will be held in Almaty to conduct an external evaluation of the operation of the Eurasian Сentre for Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Higher Education and Health Care (ECAQA) and provide recommendations on the inclusion of the ECAQA into the APQR. The expert panel includes Professor Jianxin Zhang, President of the Asia-Pacific Quality Network (APQN), China; Dr. Jayant Yashwant Deopujari, President of the Central Council of Indian Medicine, Ministry of AYUSH, India; Professor Rie Mori representing NIAD-QE, Japan.

The Eurasian Сentre for Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Higher Education and Health Care (ECAQA) carries out a self-evaluation of its operation as part of the recognition procedure of the World Federation for Medical Education

The Eurasian Сentre for Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Higher Education and Health Care (ECAQA) has begun the process of self-evaluation of its operation for compliance with the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) Recognition Criteria of accrediting agencies conducting accreditation of medical education and is preparing for a visit of foreign experts who will implement the WFME recognition procedure.

The Eurasian Centre for Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Higher Education and Health Care (ECAQA) will hold a training workshop on "Accreditation of Medical Education: International and National Context and Prospects" on 5-6 October 2018 in Astana for the ECAQA experts, staff of universities and scientific centers. The speaker of the workshop is Prof. Geneviève Moineau, President and CEO of the Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada (AFMC), Senior Adviser of the World Federation for Medical Education, Member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

The workshop venue: the National Research Center for Maternal and Child Health of the Corporate Fund “University Medical Center” of Nazarbayev University (the conference hall, 32 Turan ave., Astana).

On 21-22 September, 2018 The Eurasian Centre for Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Higher Education and Health Care (ECAQA) and the University of Applied Sciences JAMK (Finland) will hold an International Workshop "Quality Assurance in Nursing Education" for accreditation experts and for teachers of medical colleges and universities.

The Workshop is conducted in accordance of the Memorandum of Cooperation.
