A site visit of the international External Expert Commission took place under the chairmanship of Gani Zhandiyarovich Bodykov, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Kazakhstan–Russian Medical University, with the participation of an international (foreign) expert, Landish Mukhamedzakievna Isanbaeva, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatal Medicine, Member of the Academic Council of the Pediatrics Faculty and the Academic Council of the Center for the Development of Professional Qualification of Medical Workers in Tashkent, Republic of Uzbekistan. The Expert Commission was formed in accordance with the WFME Guiding Principles and included representatives of the academic community, an expert learner, and an employer expert.

The International Academy of Reproductology is undergoing a re-accreditation process for compliance with the accreditation standards for organisations delivering continuing professional development (additional and non-formal education), developed by the Eurasian Centre for Accreditation on the basis of the 2016 edition of the WFME International Standards for Quality Improvement in Medical Education.

The external evaluation programme included meetings with senior administrators, academic staff and mentors, interviews with learners enrolled in CPD programmes and teaching personnel, discussions with representatives of practical healthcare, a meeting with IAR partners, a review of resources for continuous professional development in reproductology and embryology, stakeholder surveys, and examination of documentation. IAR initiated the re-accreditation in accordance with the requirements of Article 221, Clause 6 of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 7 July 2020 No. 360-VI “On Public Health and the Healthcare System”, and with the aim of evaluating and improving the quality of healthcare professionals’ training.
