WFME WORLD CONFERENCE 2019 in Seoul, Korea, April 7-10, 2019
WFME World Conference "Quality Assurance in Medical Education in 21st Century” hosted by Korea University College of Medicine and Korean Council on Medical Education took place in Seoul on April 7-10, 2019.
More than 800 participants from 56 countries took part in the 2019 WFME World Conference.
Professor David Gordon, FRCP FMedSci, President of the World Federation for Medical Education has introduced the WFME’ international initiatives and its contribution as the organisation working to improve the quality of medical education in all parts of the world.
Key-note speakers from all parts of the world including the WFME advisors and assessors from the WFME Recognition of Accreditation programme; accreditation experts who have been successful in that programme; specialists in the development of standards for basic medical education; authorities on accreditation of postgraduate medical education and CPD have presented and discussed with the WFME’s world conference participants the following themes: Development of Accreditation and Recognition of Accreditation; Towards the Next Edition of the WFME Global Standards; Quality Enhancement, Standards and Accreditation in Postgraduate Medical Education; The Future of accreditation, Recognition and the ECFMG Programme; Experiences in the WFME Recognition programme and the key lessons learned; Medical Humanities and Ethics in the Curriculum - Standards and Best Practices; Social Accountability; A Critical Analysis; the Role of Students and their involvement in Accreditation Process.
Dr. Farida Nurmanbetova MD, DmedSc, has introduced the Kazakhstan Experience in Establishing and Modernization of the National Medical Education Accreditation System as well as the Eurasian Centre for Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Education and Health Care (ECAQA)’ Strategy and Programme for Improvement Medical Education and other Healthcare Professional Education.
ECAQA as a Specialized Accreditor for Medical and Healthcare Professions Education aimed to ensure establishment transparent national quality assurance system through the introduction of the international principles of good practice in quality assurance in higher education based on the WHO/WFME Guidelines, ENQA/ESG2015, INQAAHE/GGP, APQN’Chiba Principles, CHEA/CIQG International Quality Principles2015.
CHEA

The Council for Higher Education Accreditation International Quality Group (CHEA/CIQG, USA) has announced the availability of the CHEA/CIQG International Directory focused on accreditation and quality assurance. The directory contains information for more than 500 quality assurance agencies and accreditation bodies in approximately 175 countries.
ECAQA as a specialized/professional accreditation agency in medicine, biomedicine and health sciences is included in the CHEA/CIQG International Directory.

The ECAQA participated in the INQAHE 15th Biennial Conference -2019
The ECAQA participated in the INQAHE 15th Biennial Conference on “Quality Assurance, Qualifications and Recognition: Fostering Trust in a Globalized World” that was held in in Colombo, Sri Lanka on March 25-28, 2019. Proudly hosted by the University Grants Commission, Sri Lanka, with the support of the Ministry of Higher Education and Cultural Affairs of Sri Lanka. The ECAQA’s delegate was Nurmanbetova Farida, consultant –advisor.
The ECAQA participated in the APQN Academic Conference and Annual General Meeting-2019
The ECAQA participated in the Asia-Pacific Quality Network (APQN) Academic Conference (AAC) and Annual General Meeting (AGM) on “Quality Assurance in the Asia-Pacific Region: Insight into the Future” that was held in Colombo, Sri Lanka on March 28- 31, 2019. The ECAQA’s delegate was Nurmanbetova Farida, consultant –advisor. The APQN is a non-governmental and non-profit network with 208 members from 40 countries and territories aiming to enhance the quality of higher education in the Asia-Pacific region. http://apqn.org/
