October 2017. Since the beginning of the new academic year, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology has begun to issue digital diplomas based on Bitcoin's blockchain technology. A potential employer of a graduate can simply verify a digital copy of the diploma with the database to confirm the legitimacy of the document.
October 2017. Reuters has published an annual TOP 100 ranking of the world’s most innovative universities.
The ranking consists of 51 universities based in the US, 26 in Europe, 20 in Asia and 3 in the Middle East. The top three are Stanford University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Harvard University.
