Institutional Accreditation
STANDARDS FOR INSTITUTIONAL ACCREDITATION OF MEDICAL EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS
The Standards for Institutional Accreditation of Medical Educational Institutions were developed by the Eurasian Center for Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Higher Education and Health Care (ECAQA) based on the Global Standards for Improving the Quality of Medical Education of the World Federation for Medical (WFME), harmonized with the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG/Part I), and taking into account national and institutional needs, as well as the priorities of the healthcare systems of the countries in which accreditation is conducted.
STANDARDS FOR INSTITUTIONAL ACCREDITATION OF HIGHER EDUCATION AND POSTGRADUATE EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS
The Standards for Institutional Accreditation of Higher Education and Postgraduate Education Institutions were developed by the Eurasian Center for Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Higher Education and Health Care based on the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG/Part I) and taking into account the national needs and priorities of the education systems in the countries where accreditation is conducted.
Institutional accreditation standards are applied for self-assessment, external evaluation of educational quality, and institutional accreditation of higher education and postgraduate education institutions – universities, institutes, academies, scientific centers, and research institutes.
STANDARDS FOR THE INSTITUTIONAL ACCREDITATION OF HIGHER MEDICAL COLLEGES, MEDICAL COLLEGES, AND TECHNICAL AND VOCATIONAL EDUCATION (TVE) INSTITUTIONS
The Standards for institutional accreditation of nursing colleges have been developed based on the WFME Global Standards for Improving the Quality of medical education, policy documents from the WHO/Eurobureau for the Development of Nursing Education: Strategic Directions for Strengthening Nursing and Midwifery in Europe to Achieve the Health 2020 Policy Goals; the Global Standards for the Initial Education of Professional Nurses and Midwives, EU Directive 2013/55/EU on the Recognition of Professional Qualifications, as well as in accordance with the national and institutional needs and priorities of the country’s health care system.

Institutional accreditation standards are used for self-assessment, external evaluation of educational quality, and institutional accreditation of higher medical (nursing) colleges and medical colleges.
The standards are developed and approved by an expert board and put into effect by order of the Director General of the ECAQA.
