The ECAQA Expert Commission, chaired by G. T. Igimbayeva, Candidate of Medical Sciences and Associate Professor of NJSC “Karaganda Medical University”, senior cardiologist, with the participation of Sh. Kh. Babakulov, PhD, Head of the Department of Accreditation and Internal Evaluation of Tashkent State Medical University (Republic of Uzbekistan), and experts from the Republic of Kazakhstan, conducted the initial evaluation of the residency programme “Cardiac Surgery Adult and Pediatric”.

The accreditation standards for postgraduate medical education (residency), developed on the basis of the updated 2023 World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) Global Standards, were applied. The external review included meetings and interviews with staff members, faculty, and potential employers of residency graduates, as well as an examination of educational and clinical resources and relevant documentation.
