The site visit took place on May 30-31 - June 1, 2022 in Almaty. The External Expert Commission (EEC) included an international expert Guzel Zakirovna Zakirova, MD, PhD of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Ophthalmology Department of the Kazan State Medical University, ophthalmologist of the Children's Republican Clinical Hospital of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan. In total, the EEC consisted of 11 accreditation experts.

The evaluation of residency educational programmes was carried out for compliance with the ECAQA Standards for Programme Accreditation of Postgraduate Medical Education (Residency Specialties) which had been developed on the basis of the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) Global Standards for Quality Improvement of Postgraduate Medical Education.

The evaluation of PhD programmes was conducted for compliance with the ECAQA Accreditation Standards which had been developed on the basis of the ORPHEUS-AMSE-WFME Standards for PhD Education in Biomedicine and Health Sciences in Europe.
