The ECAQA took part in the 9th ENQA General Assembly of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education that was dedicated to “Promotion of the European quality assurance standards in higher education” (on 18-19 October 2018 in Astana).

The ECAQA is an affiliate member of ENQA and regards this as one of the important stages in the development of the specialized accreditation center in medical education and integration into the European Area for Quality Assurance in Higher Education.

The accreditation standards developed by the ECAQA are based on the WFME Global Standards for Quality Improvement 2015, covering Basic (Undergraduate) Medical Education (BME), Postgraduate Medical Education (PME), and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) of Medical Doctors, and are harmonized with the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG, 2015).
