A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Eurasian Centre for Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Higher Education and Health Care (ECAQA), the Republic of Kazakhstan, and JAMK University of Applied Sciences, Finland, on 31 May 2018 in Almaty.

The Memorandum was signed by the Director-General of the ECAQA Sarsenbayeva S.S. and the President of JAMK University of Applied Sciences Professor Jussi Halttunen. The signing ceremony was attended by Johanna Heikkilä, PhD, Senior Advisor of JAMK University of Applied Sciences, Pusa Heikki, Project Manager of JAMK University of Applied Sciences, and the members of the ECAQA Accreditation Council. The purpose of the Memorandum is to improve approaches to ensuring quality of nurse education in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The meeting also discussed the Memorandum Implementation Plan that includes the organization of competence development training programmes of experts in the scope of accreditation of medical education, accreditation of joint educational programmes, joint sociological research and other objectives aimed at ensuring the quality of education.
